#JJCurates: Tyler Mitchell at C/O Berlin
Brooklyn artist and photographer Tyler Mitchell’s (@tylersphotos) solo show, “Wish This Was Real” at @coberlin was a vibe. (He was the first black photographer to shoot a Vogue cover in 2018 for Beyoncé.) The exhibition was his homage to home (Atlanta), reveries (what an alternative world was like in his fantasies), allegories, play, youth, and optimism- without ignoring the politics that underpin the times of which these works were created. Wonderful show. A great podcast on the show and a music playlist exists on Spotify. Also note Tyler was born in 1995. I had to let that sink in for a hot minute.
